" The Secret of a Home"

The secret of a home is that it is a collection over time.It takes patience, and it takes time to not only get to know yourself and your tastes, but really shop and look for those special pieces. You don't have to throw the Baby out with the bath water...You can just refresh a room and use existing pieces. Keep your bones and take away all your accessories. Just like Fashion. Changing the look of a outfit.... Maybe a new bedspread, taking heavy drapes down and replacing them with light flowing lace ones.......So, I got to thinking about replacing the ottoman in front of my sofa, with a large coffee table...

This is my ottoman.. YES my husband and I eat in front of the TV a lot. We haven't had cable for 10 years, but we watch a lot of good Series and Movies. (  Did you know they are free at you local Library and you can keep them for a week) Cool!!!

To get this look I was going for, I cut the legs a few inches off a old kitchen table I had in the laundry room. You want the height so you can fit your legs easily under the table as you sit up to it...  I shabby chic it white & distressed it....

Now we can sit on our sofa comfortably and have a candle lit dinner watching...... " Downton Abbey" Boy that's my kind of evening. ( Hey I'm easy) LOL

During the day you can also open your laptop in a very comfy atmosphere, because you feel like your sitting at a desk with a very soft seat...So study your daily activities and design your home around your Life. If you enjoy homemaking, you will enjoy experimenting and will eventually will hit upon something different. I like to explore new ways of doing things. Your first step is to get inspired. " Posies" is full of exciting ideas for you.And if you care to wander to the back, to my little corner of the world. I have your Romantic side covered. So Dream and get inspired...

" Losing a Big part of Me"

I guess this is one of the hardest post I have ever written on my blog. Kramer my pal and Buddy had to be put down...He was 15 years young... I probably prolonged his life for my own selfish reasons.AS he has been ill for a while now He was my Muse , He comforted me in so many ways. Always a friend when I was feeling down. Always that happy wagging tail to greet me and everyone he came in contact with...When people say my dog is like a human, it is so true...All that unconditional LOVE....My Sweet Kramer, You were the best of the best. You are so loved and missed. You will always be a part of me. hugs Chrisy

" Our Booth" at " Remnants of the Past" Show

I have fallen in love with the " Remnants from the Past" show. It was so awesome and so much fun. WE have decided to do the Fall Show Nov. 8th & 9th . So if you missed it. Please mark your calenders . A little birdie told me Rachel Ashwell will be there to do signings of her up and coming New book... How cool is that!!!

I sold every pair of bloomers....New ones have arrived at the Shop..

My jewelry I made was a big Hit....Will be making more for next show... These were a lot of work but so rewarding one someone fell in love with a piece and bought it...

Oh Yes I had to dress the part...That is half the FUN!!!

" Chrisy's Cottage"will be doing the "Remnants from the Past" Show with " Affairs of the Heart" &" Posies" June 1st and 2nd at the Madonna Event Center in San Luis Obispo Ca. (9:00 to 5:00) Sat and 9:00 to 3:00 on Sun..WE have a HUGE Booth outdoors and were so excited to be invited to do this wonderful show. If you ever wanted to know whats going on with cutting edge Antique decorating and meet some of the most creative women in the country. This is the show to go to. Early birds get the best deals so come early and your wrist band is good for both days............. Tickets are $ 10.00 and well worth it...So come for some good food some good wine and a fabulous shopping experience!!!!!!
