' Happy New Year" Chrisy's Cottage

We were snowed in for 3 days. So happy it was at home and not the shop. The temp dropped to below zero and set records here in Payson. Total of about 17 inches in some parts. The town literally shut down. No going in No going out. Hotels were full of stranded people.. So glad I made it home. They shut the road to our place just after letting us through ... We were snug as bugs in a rug. This was New Years Eve. The kids were home for Christmas wanting snow. It just came a week late. In the summer the grand kids jump off this big rock and go swimming...A bit nippy now!!! I live a mile down this Dirt road. It was a winter wonderland.... I've had this sign for years. I always hang it up for the Kids when they come home for Christmas to greet them coming down the driveway...I love when they come home. Enjoy your children when their little. They grow up so so fast. In a blink. Lots and Lots of hugs the best present of all...Hope you had a good Christmas. And the new year brings Peace and Joy.... Ice under snow made the roads really bad...Glad to be snowed in on this side of the river.... Auuu Dreaming of the Beach.... Good thing Bunnies have built in fur coats. This is my Grandma Bunny. She loves bananas.. I call her my Little Monkey....Come enjoy the snow. Roads are now all open. Lots of New sweaters just arrived. And cute Party Dresses.." No snow yet, But there was a sprinkling on the Rim yesterday, So it's on it's way. Almost done shopping for family, feels good Auuuu I can finally relax a little bit. 4 kids and 4 grand kids takes a while. Love how this picture turned out, taken in front of the shop... So Pretty!! Entrance to "Chrisy's Cottage"I 'm so excited I can hardly contain myself. The secret is finally out. I have moved into my 2nd location inside a beautiful 5000 sq. foot shop "Posies" Located in the fabulous village hamlet of Arroyo Grande Ca. Laurie has owned this shop for over 22 years and has now taken on a partner Tamie Miller of Affairs of the Heart. This decorating duo will blow you away. this shop is awesome and they have kindly rented me their back room.I've been having so much fun setting up my new location. A BIG Thank you goes out to Gerry of Arizona Ranch and my sweet Hubbie. The were the muscle that made this set up possible.We are heading back up there on the 3rd on the 5th Dec.4-8 " Elegant Christmas in The Village " begins when Santa arrives and the shop owners dress up serving food and drinks there will be live music and lots of entertainment. Luminaries line the street... I will be there so hope to meet some new customers and friends. AUUUU The Bed.. This is a Queen size iron bed the headboard is taller then me. Sorry but the girls informed me that the spread has all ready sold. I'm bringing new bedding so stay posted. It will have a amazing new look soon!! I did my space in sections bedroom , garden and dinning area. I love the fireplace with frilly stocking hung from the mantel... " Eggplant Chaise I know I normally don't go this dark ' but it went so cute with the pillow." Of coarse I had to bring in some white....Voila!!! Close up of old black trunk I painted and decoupaged with old sheet music. I first sprayed it pink and then antiqued it and gold leafed all the brass. the inside was in a old cloth with tiny little pink rosebud flowers. You can imagine my surprise to find it when I first oped this ugly old black trunk.. a pearl in the ruff..Love love love it!!! and had so much fun doing it knowing it was going to shine in it's new home at " Posies" Romantic Fashions and accessories will be totally stocked up by the 5th of Dec. Pink trees with homemade ornaments and one of a kind crown Antique tree toppers inside urn... Will post many more pics after my next trip up and will get one of the girls and outside of shop.. " The Long and Winding Road that Leads to My Door. " " Fall At The Ranch" The leaves are crunching under foot , You can hear the gurgling of the river and the Elk are coming in the yard at night for there apple tree feast. The smell of Fall is all around me. It is peeking up here on the mountain and soon the winds will blow all the beautiful leaves off there branches. Fall only lasts for but a moment but stays in my heart forever. I LOVE this time of year.... Pictures taken this morning before going to work... "Pin Cushions made from Vintage"

This is my favorite piece I embellished. I love anything Marie Antoinette. Love how the hair turned out. I've been so busy the last couple of weeks, it was fun to get working in the studio again.
